offers
We will write to you to tell you. Your new landlord will also invite you to view the property and verify the information on your application
If you don’t hear anything after a week following the closing date for the advertisements you should assume that you have not been successful. You can see who got the property by looking at recent lets or the results information in the newspaper Gazette and Herald property supplement.
If you want to accept the offer you will need to arrange a tenancy start date with your new landlord who will provide a tenancy agreement for you. Your application will be taken off the Kennet Housing Register
If you want to refuse an offer you must tell us or the prospective landlord immediately so that the property can be offered to the next person who wanted it. You will be able to continue to bid for other properties.
Priority card holders who refuse an offer will have their housing need reassessed. If they were given priority because they were homeless they risk the Council saying it has discharged its duty to find suitable permanent housing for them.
Your bid will not usually be accepted. You must clear your arrears and the grounds of any Notice to the satisfaction of your landlord. If you have an urgent housing need you must agree a repayment plan with your landlord and you may need to get specialist debt advice to sort out financial problems.
